There is the suggestion to take 1000 mg acetaminophen every six hours. That would be 4000 mg a day. That is the uppermost amount an adult should take. Acetaminophen is a very useful drug. BUT taking to much will kill you by destroying your liver. In most cases this process is irrevocable. Since 4000 mg is the absolute upper limit per day for an adult I would highly advise against taking that amount just because of a cold.

Why does the coca-cola work? Is it simply the carbonation or some ingredient? I am a voice teacher and am.always looking for helps like this for my students as well as myself! Thank you!!

Thanks- I printed this out to keep in my medicine cabinet. I contracted Influenza A in the spring and this would have come in handy!
