We were very blessed to have our camper van (RV) to use when we lost power, toilets and water after the earthquake which we experienced in Christchurch in 2011. We had to cook for 10 people the fist night and some cookng for several days after as well. Also had that many people using the toilet. My husband and I slept in it, as our house was badly damaged, until we knew it was safe to return. The aftershocks are not so scary in a camper either.

This list is so helpful, but what's a "wife card"?

Thank you so much Carolyn for all your good ideas and information. Being an elderly single lady (but with a great family) I have thought of getting a trailer to live in now, and to have a safe place in an emergency. Am still thinking about it, but having a list of things needed will be such a help when and if it happens. Actually a good idea for anyone in any serious situation.
