this is a very good topic. I have been in many situations like this. I find though that my problem was LACK OF KNOWLEDGE...about my situation and not only my lack of knowledge but many different doctors lack of knowledge because no one person is the same at the other. I wont go into detail but I have been bed ridden many times nearly dying and had to come up with my own solution because the drs I was seeing couldnt. I prayed and prayed and moved in a direction that I thought would help me or one of my children..and a solution came to all of them. Im now in the same predicament and most drs just want to throw medication at you. your family dr now is just your health manager who sends you to a specialist and he finds medicine for you or tests ..ultimately its you ..in the end you have to decide what you want to do or can do. I developed seizures at 42 after trying to get off medication I was put on years earlier. Im off that meds now but am on seizure meds. I dont have a choice in taking seizure meds. the power of discernment is very important which is a gift from God and also the Holy Spirit who can and does guide you to the right direction. sometimes though we have to go through the black pit to get to the light on the other side..that pit normally is a learning tool or teaching tool...and as I overcame and found guidance through my many problems I learned so much. I like the person who spoke above have a bad immune system and wouldnt tolerate chemo or other types of things to cure cancer. I hardly tolerate the meds I am on now. you are right though...standing and waiting for someone to do something for you wont get you anywhere or if it does it wont help you to grow..you have got to move...no matter your situation or age.

I am a person with a marked tendency to auto-immune response when exposed to stress. I'm OK, but I walk a fine line to be physically and mentally calm enough to stay healthy. I know that should I ever get a cancer diagnosis, that I will not have the reserves of health to tolerate any radiation or chemical treatment for the condition, or even surgery. My choice will be palliative care or some sort of natural cure that will take a ton of research. So I will be in a situation where I could surely say, "There's nothing I can do." But as you've said, with a lot of effort and divine help, I could still change my life.
