Well I must say I'm relieved!! Having to clean a mansion in heaven didn't sound like a great reward for surviving earthly life! :). Unless angels double as a cleaning crew I'll pass. Sincerely though...Thank you for your thoughts and research Rynna. We miss your lessons dearly! Thank you for the reminder mostly of how to make the family strong and heaven ready. Prepare every needful thing...a house of prayer, a house of God.... Xoxo

Nice to read. I never wanted a mansion unless I had servants to take care of it. Somehow, I've never felt that would happen in heaven. It's nice to know, that we will be with our family, but not necessarily in some grand building! A cabin in the woods would be nice!

The author is just beautiful and an intellectual genius too. I just love her and love everything she writes and teaches.

I really enjoyed reading this article. I look forward to everything you write. They are always inspiring and informative. I wish you would write more often then you do.

This is a fascinating article! I too have wondered about this scripture and feel that this interpretation makes a whole lot of sense. Thanks for writing it. I will certainly pass it on.

Joseph Smith said the Martin Luther translation of the bible is the most accurate. In that translation Luther wrote there would be many Wohnungen. Translation: Apartments.

...So, maybe it's not so important "where" our home is, but ever more so "with whom" and how we feel. Indeed, my home is where I feel love, a bit of heaven on earth:-) Thank you, Regina in Italy

Brilliant article. Your subject of research is fascinating. So true--the word "mansion" is a dichotomy in regards to other scripture. You nailed it perfectly. I find your article yet another reason to put more effort into family relationships and less into all the distractions of the world. Thank you!

This is such a lovely article. Full of wonderful, thought provoking points that lift the Spirit. You have brought new and deeper meaning to what awaits us in the postmortal world. There is added comfort in the scriptures with each of the interpretations given in the article. Thank you for sharing. You have a wonderful way of looking at the world and its possibilities.

Discussed with logic and grace. This area has given me much thought. As I work on geneology for myself and my husband, this increases my understanding, as these family members will be with us. Thank you!

Rynna Ollivier's article is deeply, beautifully, and profoundly written. Her words, which have obviously called for immense research, have enlightened me and given me much to contemplate on this most significant subject. I believe her thoughts contain many truisms. Rynna is a deep thinker, an articulate writer, whose many writings always challenge me to feel more deeply, care more passionately and live more spiritually.

Beautifully written article. Great logic and research. I've always wondered about the word mansions and what that really meant. I agree with Rynna and her conclusions. Great Article from her as always.

Oh darn, there's no mansion? That ruins all my dreams....lol. thanks for the informative article.

I live in the Middle East and Bait or Beit is the ME version of house or Spouse. I don't believe Jesus meant wherever our heart is we are at home ( I'm okay with that but I don't think that is the meaning). It also means place and I think that fits as well? "Many places...there he may be also."

what you have said here makes perfect sense. I have agonized over this subject of mansions because it go's against everything I know about God and what he is all about based on what he teaches. Thank you so much for your insight.

I know it will be like nothing any of us have seen before and it will for sure be a lot better than were I live now!!!! I only pray that I am able to be worthy enough to be abel to experience the glory of it all. But I don't know?

Very informative article, thanks for your time and effort, Rynna. I think many people wonder about the meaning of "mansions" when used in scripture. I remember my mother talking about that verse.
joyceJune 11, 2013
Very nice article. I've also thought that many mansions meant there's a place for everyone because all are different and will inherit different "mansions" We just don't go to heaven or hell but since all have lived and kept the commandments in various ways, there will be places for all in heaven.

What a beautiful article, thank you for explaining the meaning of a verse I have stumbled over, ever since I was baptized in 1979... 'mansions' never made a lot of sense to me... 'bayit' does, and I know this is the correct interpretation.
