For what it's worth, I don't have a problem with marriage. My problem is living together. Can you think of a more distasteful activity for two people to do than living together? Cheers

Many questions, the first being how many of those now happy in marriage are in their second or third go around and so is my wife. We enter marriage with such rose colored filters that failure is almost guaranteed. Yes if we change and don't do any of the common errors our marriage is more likely to succeed, but then we will not be being as most of us are.

Thank you so much for the encouraging information! It is hard to understand why someone would make disparaging remarks about marriage, even in jest. Certainly these negative comments fall in the category of "light mindedness." I loved the comment you made that bad marriages can also go good! I heard someone give a very touching personal account of making a bad marriage into a wonderful one. The key was developing true love and applying Christlike characteristics in the marriage. I heartily agree with the truth that a happy marriage is a grand key to a happy life.
