Your husband invited our family to a Sunday dinner with your family in 1996 (Iowa) when traveling across the country with 4 kids under 8. I've been grateful for that simple act of kindness decades ago. You two are truly special people! We live a few short miles away from you, and are thrilled you both bless our area with your influence and service.

I know you excluded the truly abusive but may I open your eyes to the reality that some of the truly abusive are mentally ill. I do not recommend personal intervention but could we care enough as a society to seek better medications?
