I couldn't agree more. A number of years ago in some discarded records, I found a story about my 3rd great grandmother, Jacobina Well Osborn Patten Willamson. This discovery prompted me to get involved in writing stories of my ancestors. I now have stories of my ancestors and my wife's ancestor back several generations. This has led to great love and apparition for all my ancestors, but a special love for the grandmothers I never knew.
