I found the music for Happy Birthday Song by Norma G. Jacobsen. It was published in The Children's Friend in January 1953. It's on page 48/60 on the PDF (page 34 in the magazine). It's in the church archives if the link doesn't work. Enjoy! https://catalog.churchofjesuschrist.org/assets?id=c849dedc-5105-4fdd-ab90-b34946a525d3&crate=0&index=47

I LOVE the song, "Because He Lives"! I recently worked at an assisted living center in Georgia with Alzheimer's patients, and they loved singing from the Baptist hymnbook. These songs were all new to this LDS-raised person, but "Because He Lives" became my very favorite hymn in that book!

Great article Carolyn! We had a lot of similar traditions in our family too. Right down to birthday plate. birthday cereal, and dinner menu and cake. We have a growth wall. It is a mess and hard to read but I still love to look at it.

My favorite birthday song is the one we sang in Primary when I was growing up in NJ. I'd love to find the music if anyone knows where to find it. You've had another birthday - a happy one we know. We'll sing in celebration because we love you so. Happy, happy birthday! We'll sing loud & clear. May you have God's blessings in the coming year!
