Why should you give a voluntary subscription to Meridian Magazine?

We recently went to a brightly lit Christmas extravaganza that had lively music and every bell and whistle that could make childish eyes light up, but it was missing the most essential thing. There was no message, no symbol, no scenario, no hint of the Christ child. It was as if we were celebrating commotion instead of Christ, and we couldn’t help but think of the barrenness of this so-called Christmas event.

A dazzling Christmas light display with vibrant blue and white lights, showcasing the beauty of the season but missing the focus on Christ.

A few nights before and a few states away, we had also experienced a Christmas light show that forgot the reason for the season. Lights were dazzling, but the Christ child was left somewhere in the dark.

Is this a fluke or a trend? We are so sad to say, that it is a long-standing trend as we carefully wash Christ out of Christmas and out of our secular world.

What a contrast that is from what we do at Meridian Magazine. Witnessing, celebrating, remembering, delighting in everything about the Lord is why we exist. So, in that same period of time, as we saw these very secular Christmas shows and shopped in stores afraid to mention why we celebrate, Meridian did something entirely different. We published articles and shared podcasts centered on Christ every day.

We talked about the names of Christ, the meaning of the word Eben-ezer in Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing. We talked about how He is the light in the darkness, how he answers prayers. We talked about Christmas with Wilford Woodruff’s family and how the prophet said, “Our God is a consuming fire, a fire shut up in his bones.” We shared a detailed and very specific vision that a man had of the after-life with Christ at the center. We talked about Christ and human deification. One woman shared how at Christmas she longs for the second coming, the way earlier people longed for the Messiah’s birth.

Day after day our magnificent writers share insights on the Savior through this Christmas holiday, and it makes Meridian a refuge in the storm of secularity and bright lights and noises that are supposed to substitute for knowing the Savior.

We give this to you freely and gladly, and at the same time, to be able to pay for everything that is needed to create and send a magazine like this to you every day takes a very healthy budget. We have only been able to create a magazine that comes to you every day, now for 26 years, with your help. Can you step forward, now, and send a voluntary subscription to Meridian Magazine, so we can continue to operate and progress? If we could do it for free, we would, but there are multiple expenses with being online and distributing a message broadly. Stand with us as we continue to proclaim the best news that ever came to this earth.
