GRAMMY-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and her accomplished children, musical group Family Four, are proud to present American Mosaic: Celebrating God, Country, and Culture, a vibrant and inspiring new show that commemorates the diversity of America through music, dance, and narration.
Featuring music by Emmy Award-winning composer Kurt Bestor, a script by New York Times best-selling author Jason F. Wright, narration by popular TV personality and actor Ben Lomu, percussion by Jay Nygaard, and performances by American Harmony Youth Singers, world-class ballroom dancers Shanden and Sabrina Hoffman, and dynamic BYU folk dancers, this production brings together a stunning array of talent.
The show’s lineup includes patriotic anthems, folk melodies, and stirring compositions that illustrate the beliefs, cultures, and traditions that shape the American experience. Audiences will be immersed in musical selections like The Star-Spangled Banner, Amazing Grace, Colors of the Wind, and a Tribute to Scott Joplin, alongside exhilarating ballroom and folk dance performances that bring movement and emotion to the mosaic of America’s story. New this year are the 100 youth voices from diverse backgrounds and cultures that will round out a beautiful ensemble.
Jenny Oaks Baker shared her excitement about the show, stating, “This production is a heartfelt tribute to the people, faith, and culture that make our country so special. Like a mosaic, every note, movement, and voice comes together to create a masterpiece that reflects the spirit of America. In a time when there’s so much division, we’re striving to bring families and communities together through what we call ‘Musical Diplomacy’.”
Kurt Bestor, who composed music for the event, added, “Music has the power to bring people together. Through this show, we’re weaving melodies that tell the American story—its struggles, triumphs, and enduring spirit.”
Actor Ben Lomu, the show’s narrator, remarked, “Being part of American Mosaic is an honor. The narration guides audiences through the soul of this country, helping them appreciate the deep roots of our shared history.”
