When my husband, Bob, was diagnosed with cancer two years ago, and after a long battle and surgery, I decided to write a musical about it. A musical about cancer? A comedy, yet? Yep, and it’s flat out hilarious.
I’m honored that composer Jerry Williams (composer and arranger for Donny & Marie) fell in love with the script and wrote all 18 songs, every one a knockout.
One of those songs is about breast cancer. Take a stand with us against the pop culture message that our appearances are what define us. 1 in 8 women will face breast cancer this year, and not one of them will be diminished as a woman. Please watch it, share it, and help us spread the vital message about “What Makes a Woman.” It’s not about her hair, her makeup, how she’s dressed or the size of her breasts–a woman’s worth is determined by who she is. So much healing happened just in the filming!

Shonnie, so glad you liked the song-- we're still looking for a theatre to premiere the musical, but I'll post that news on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thebestmedicinemusical?ref=hl as soon as we know something. And Dr. Stevens, yes this is true-- it's 1 in 8 for a lifetime. That change was made several days ago to our Facebook page, and will be the statistic we use for better clarification. Thanks so much for writing in.

When and where can we see/order the musical? Love the song.
