Three temples — one each in California, Argentina and Panama — are moving to Phase 2, while five other temples in three countries are resuming operations after being paused.
The status changes are the latest as the Church continues to reopen temples in its careful and cautious four-phased process, after halting operations at all temples worldwide in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As announced Monday, Feb. 22, the three temples are moving to Phase 2 from Phase 1 and offering all living ordinances for the first time in nearly a year:
- Buenos Aires Argentina Temple
- Panama City Panama Temple
- Redlands California Temple
And resuming operations after being “paused” because of local COVID-19 conditions and restrictions:
- Ciudad Juárez Mexico Temple
- Colonia Juárez Chihuahua Temple
- Durban South Africa Temple
- Concepción Chile Temple
- Hermosillo Mexico Temple
And operations are being paused at one temple:
- Trujillo Peru Temple
