I disagree as a Mormon on one of the points.
I agree that Christ came to reveal the Father to us but I also know that Christ wanted us to have Him as the center of our lives.
We are to worship the father and Son.
Please clerify more.

It is interesting to note these differences, and it is interesting to note also that highlighting differences continues to polarize Christian believers, whilst commonalities will unite all of us! Perhaps you could follow up with a list of commonalities in order to draw us closer to each other. If we always talk about commonalities, we can, and will, draw closer to each other - and,who knows - they may well take a first step towards the Church.

One additional difference: Mormons also do not believe in the Doctrine of Original Sin (advocated by several Christian denominations) which holds us personally guilty, from birth, for the sin or transgression of Adam. We believe, as stated in the Articles of Faith, that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression.

Boy, do I ever agree with you, Bro Stodard, on every one of the 21 points that you listed! It is this thinking that has made me abandon any former doctrine of Christian belief that I had and adopt the LDS view -- and I can't think of any one of the 21 items that you mention that would disagree with official Church doctrine.

Nothing about the Atonement? "Your love for Jesus Christ and your discipleship in His cause must be the consuming preoccupation and passion of your mortality. You must strive every day to know the Savior in the most personal way you can--to study His life, to learn His teachings,mot follow His doctrine, to reverence His priesthood....And you must carry in your heart forever the deepest possible gratitude for His merciful Atonement and the joy of the Resurrection it purchased." Elder Holland. I believe that our expanded understanding of the Savior's Atonement is another significant difference, but at the same time many faithful Christians' great love and gratitude for the Savior is something we have very much in common.

Mark, you raise a lot to think about in your list. I wish I had the opportunity to sit down with you and clarify your meaning on some of the items. I agree with you that there are significant differences between "Mormonism" and traditional Christianity, but I would also be interested in your doing a list of the same or similar beliefs so that our Christian friends realize we have very much in common.
