Thank you for the reminder that the simple observance of keeping the Sabbath will bring profound blessings. I grew up as a non member and the Sabbath was filled with stuff: picnics, ballgames, outdoor activities, and one hour for church...and I hated it. Sunday was the most unfulfilling day of the week. Then, through a series of miracles, I joined the church and learned how the Sabbath can be observed. It is now the very best day of the week, with all the old "stuff" put away. Ballgames, picnics and outdoor activities will just have to wait. Instead, it is a day for spiritual feasting, fasting and prayer, family history and family visits. Oh...and at least 3 hours of church. From all of this I believe the Sabbath is an eternal principal, and our spirits long for the peace and rest of this day -- if we will, as Isaiah said, "put away our feet from doing our own pleasure" on this day, and instead call the Sabbath a "delight".
