You state several time that it's common sense a child is better off with a mom and a dad but are there any empirical studies refuting all other combinations?

Thank you, Pamela Smith, for recommending the article by Mr. Lopez. I found it to be very insightful and informative, and I applaud him for making the tough and moral decisions he has made for his own personal life.

I would add that even in a marriage with a Mom and Dad, there can be mixed messages about female/male attributes which often create difficulties with the children on how they view their own sexualities. For instance, a marriage where the wife definitely dominates the man or if they belittle the attributes of the other, the confusion in the minds of the child can lead to homosexual tendencies. I have no studies, except in seeing it take place among friends and family. The more a woman supports a good man as husband and vice versa, the better the chance of a happy child who knows who he/she is.

How about if we listen to those who have actually experienced it ("Growing Up With Two Moms: The Untold Children's View" by Robert Oscar Lopez)? https://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2012/08/6065/
