This is a great piece of advice. My initial reaction is that this husband doesn't really have the spirit with him. The spirit guides us to all truth and helps us keep the sacred confidence of others. This leads me to wonder what he has done to lose the spirit. The possibilities are obviously endless in this ever-increasingly evil and wicked world. All we can do as ordinary members is pray fervently that he finds a way to have the spirit back in his life so he can magnify his calling as patriarch of the home. But I respect this humble sister so much for pressing forward with faith!

Thank you, thank you. I have the same challenge in my marriage and have agonized for years because of a temple recommend interview by a bishop asking me if I had any secrets I kept from my husband. You have given me the answer and peace I've long sought. I'm not to keep any secrets about me or my actions from my husband; but I can keep confidences of friends and family members from him because he either cannot or will not. Right now there is a signficant one which a grandchild has confided in me, but I can't trust my husband with the information; therefore I'm not sharing it in order to preserve my relationship with my grandchild.
