Doesn’t fit in the category of free speech. Not even close. “Limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, hate speech, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, food labeling, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, dignity, the right to be forgotten, public security, blasphemy and perjury.”

Don't expect anything to get better or change because it's not going to. What was once unacceptable in public has now gone public, celebrities use it openly and regularly in interviews and commentary, politicians at all levels up to and including the president of the United States make no effort to refrain from vulgar and profane language in public discourse. It's openly used in the hallways of our schools with seemingly no effort by teachers or administration to prevent it. Have a granddaughter who is a sweetheart and somewhat sensitive to things, her transistion from elementary school to junior high was rough, one of the reasons was all the bad language and bullying and intimidation, breaks my heart. It's a sign of the times and totally part of Satan's plan to desensitize people to evil.

I grew up in a home where four-letter-words were common place. My father owned a nightclub complete with liquor, gambling and prostitution. It rubbed off on me. I joined the Church when I was 17 with little or no testimony of its divinity. Somewhere within my being, God saw something of value in me. He has been patient as I have strived to Become as my Savior. My testimony of God, His Son, Joseph’s vision and the Church I love, has been paramount in my life and my manner of speech has improved. True repentance works. We as members have to bear the ugly words with love as individuals but, BYU students should not. Opposing schools must teach their fans to be respectful and a fine of $50K won’t do it. Immediate penalties against the opposing teams will work. The fine/penalty must be immediate and impactful.
