I am a personal witness of the power and protection of wearing the sacred and holy Temple garment. April, 1989 I had a life-threatening motorcycle accident, that broke both bones in my right leg into 33 separate pieces. My right foot was completely severed from the ankle. When my Bishop visited me in the hospital, he was the first to notice that all the injuries were below the hem of my garment! The vital organs that were covered by the garment were not hurt or damaged. Later, while recovering from a six hour surgery, I was given a one liter bag of morphine to tolerate the pain. The man in the other bed used the entire bag. When the nurse came to check in the morning, she was shocked to discover I had not used one drop of morphine! That was 36 years ago, and I have had a complete recovery, and been restored to full health.

This is about the 4th or 5th article in Meridian in the last 9-12 months that is about or mentions garments and the wearing of garments, I personally wonder if these articles and certainly they are all good articles but I wonder if the authors of the articles are like me and others who have noticed whats happening, particularly among the younger generations in regards to the wearing of garments or have been told or seen these website's and blogs that are telling members that it's up to them to decide when and where and how to wear their garments among other things. Maybe it's time that we just be direct and someone write an article pointing out that what is going on is not inspiration, is not doctrinally based, is not in either the spirit or the letter of the law so to speak and is leading folks away from truth and members are putting themselves in precarious danger spiritually.

Thank you for this wonderful article on the sacred temple garments and why we should be wearing them. I have seen several non-church videos recently describing the “new” styles of garments (created primarily for extremely warm climates) that emphasize, especially for women, all the fashions that couldn’t be previously worn. We need to remember and also teach those preparing to go to the temple the importance of our covenants and the blessings we receive through wearing temple garments.

Thank you for this truly wonderful article! I have worn and have been protected by my garments over 35 years and urge others to consider donning their protection daily! I am 82years of age.
