Sorry to disagree, but this is a well thought-out presentation with excellent production values and outstanding acting abilities. If the reviewer hadn't correctly identified the names of the major characters here, I would have wondered what film was being discussed. It's really an impressive, moving experience that deserves far more credit than this reviewer gives. Angel has hit it out of the park again.

I loved this movie! It shows the power of what one person can do to change the directory of someone who has been dealt so many difficulties. I think its sad that such a meaninful film would receive such a bad review from Meridian of all places. You needed a Mr. Deen as a teacher! I loved learning that this young man goes on to become a movie maker in Hollywood- and if you've seen the movie you will know that this started because of Mr. Dean<3

It’s Deen. Mr. Deen. Perhaps you were too busy mocking the movie to pay attention to details. I get your points, but it still was a very meaningful film and it was 1986 so high school was , well, different then.
