When my husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with all of our children with us, one of them asked how we stayed together so long. (They had seen the ups and downs). We told them it was because we wanted to! Our eternal marriage and our family was the most important thing in our earthly life. And we just never considered messing it up.
