A great book that pokes fun at all the theories of creation that leave it all to chance was written by an agnostic secular Jew and renowned scientist David Berlinski - The Devil's Delusion: Atheism and its Scientific Pretensions. If you dismiss Intelligent Design, there are so many unanswered questions that are brushed aside by militant atheists in the scientific community. These people simply don't want to deal with the idea that there may be a God and thus busy themselves trying to intimidate other scientists into accepting their views. Read this book. Berlinski is really smart and quite funny.
