Thank you for sharing your conversion experience. It helped me recall very precious memories of my teen years as I read the missionary tracts and learned of the doctrines of this church. I too had a very special experience of feeling a powerful love envelop me from head to toes for a few nights when I knelt to pray. It has been 62 wonderful years of repenting, learning, serving and growing ever since. How kind and merciful is our Heavenly Father that he would "rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine." I love the restored gospel!!

I love this story! I also had a profound conversion experience at age 19 that has blessed my life for 54 years. I also want to bear testimony of another great book I've been reading this summer - Cleon Skousen's "Fourth Thousand Years." Our church study of the Old Testament wasn't teaching me much. What I have known about that book of scripture I learned at BYU 50 years ago in the classes of Bro. Skousen. Too long ago to be very useful to me now. But re-reading his book has doubled my faith and my love for a very forgiving Lord and Savior. Only a divine Father could have such merciful love and forgiveness for His children as the Old Testament outlines.

When I had my experience with the power of the Holy Ghost overshadowing me and filling me with love, light and power to the degree I thought I was floating.
It was the very first time I had prayed to God with a specific question. Were these Mormon missionaries really your servants and did you and Jesus really appear to Joseph Smith and is this Book of Mormon your word. I think I might have said more but all I remember was the feeling someone was laying their hands on my head and that inexpressible feeling of pure love and knowledge flowed down my body very slowly until it reached the souls of my feet. I got up off my knees and just leaned back against the wall. I could not stop grinning and the that feeling and power stayed with me a couple of days.
This was in December of 1971. I was baptized a few days later and sent off to the US Navy for the next four years of my life.
I thought all Mormons had this experience and realized after a time that my experience was somewhat unusual and that most testimonies came in a quieter and extended effort.
I have always felt exceedingly fortunate and humbled to have been one to receive such a spiritual experience

I too learned about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and gained a sweet testimony of the gospel at age 18. Like you it has blossomed through the years. It was a joy to read your story!

It is kind of like God reaches down and picks some people out to have incredible experiences that appear to be undeniable witnesses of His truth. Although, I haven't had an experience like this it really just makes me so happy when I hear that God does show such mercy to people.
I count it as one of my greatest blessings that I feel His love for me very often as I hear stories like this, and songs of praise, and think of what a wonderful life I have had so far, with unlimited possibilities in the future. He is so, so good to me.

I too experienced a spiritual life changing moment in 1977 while attending the gospel principles class when the elderly woman teacher at the end of our class read a few verses in Section 19 of The Doctrine & Covenants. I knew God was real and that Jesus Christ had already suffered for my sins causing Him so much pain that He bleed from every pore. As others left the class, I could only sat quietly with tears rolling down my cheeks as the Holy Ghost continued to confirm this eternal truth.
