I was a Radioman in the Navy. There was a Naval base on the north end of the island where I as stationed from 1976 to about March 1979. The base was closed down shortly thereafter. I loved Barbados. The people were the nicest and friendliest people I knew. I have great memories of the island. I had a different lifestyle then. I eventually left the Navy and wound up in Utah, where I joined the church in late 1982. I am so happy Barbados has been dedicated and hope it thrives into a great LDS nation.
