The news media and Hollywood are wildly anti-Trump no matter what he does. Are these ladies just joining the popular kids in the great and spacious building?

Where was the civic group when the Contitution was being eviscerated by the past several presidents? It seems to me that a political group who believes the Constitution was inspired of God should be more outraged and concerned about the Constitution hanging by a thread than the coarse personality traits of our president. Especially when he defends the Constitution more than any other in recent times. One of many examples: Obama, Michele and Hillary did more to promote the killing of the unborn than any other political figures. Where's the outrage? Talk about straining at gnats and swallowing camels. I'm afraid these ladies are missing the mark.

I'm a little concerned when I read this article. The news, unfortunately has an agenda and they are anti-trump. There is a soft-coup going on and they are trying to get rid of him. If you read the news, it's hard not to be "aghast" at our current president. But if you look at what he has passed in congress and done - you will realize he really is for the people of this nation and has done what other presidents before him promised to do, but never did. He is trying to decrease the government and turn the power back over to the people. Surely, his way of going about it is a tad abrasive, but he is good for America

I echo previous comments in that I do not understand why this group of women only think the current government leadership has unethical policies/personal lives. Both Clintons immediately spring to mind. Also, I would prefer they take away the word 'Mormon' if they are dealing with politics.(I am a Latter Day Saint so not keen on the nickname of 'Mormon' anyway.)

How refreshing to read about women working together to promote decency, equality and goodness. Thank you for sharing this story.
NatalieSeptember 20, 2017
Bravo! These women are mobilizing their talents, skills and efforts towards positive political action in a time when our leaders are not representative of us!
Charlotte GossSeptember 20, 2017
This group may mean well, but I believe at heart it is just another forum for those who can't accept that Killer lost. I see nothing positive or American in constant whinning. Better use could be made of your energy. Bashing our President wears thin and becomes demoralizing and depressing.

This group of so called MWEG are seriously sounding like radical feminazis! They are engaged in the exact same rude and judgemental vitreal, that they are now accusing our President Trump of.
KristieSeptember 19, 2017
I am so grateful for this group. It has given me a place to learn a bit more about how "the other side" thinks, rather than just the echo chamber of people who think like I do. MWEG stands up for ethical behavior on both sides of the aisle, including the ethical behavior of caring for our neighbor as Christ taught us to do.
Kay RuppSeptember 19, 2017
I had no idea this group existed! I would love to become a member. A place to agree and disagree on issues without being judged, a place to grow and engage in uplifting policy.
E ToselandSeptember 19, 2017
It is good to question everything with boldness. Trump is president and should be held up to view as all politicians that are voted to represent us. He is better than most but must be watched.
Rebecca WhitmerSeptember 19, 2017
So grateful to be a part of this group! It's helped me become so much more involved and aware. Participating in our country's government is something we all need to make time for.
NadjaSeptember 19, 2017
Who cares when or how it was created? Something was the catalyst, and that something happened to be the elections. I love being part of that group, though as a non-American and non-US resident, I tend to not be as involved as many others. I neither identify with the 'right' nor the 'left' leanings in US politics, yet I have never felt unwelcome at MWEG!
H. E.September 19, 2017
Inspiring! It's always great to see fellow Latter-day Saints reaching out in their communities for a good cause such as ethical government.
ErinSeptember 19, 2017
What an important mission--ethical government. And it's a non-partisan group to boot! How refreshing. I'm proud of these ladies. Way to lead!
Heather RuppSeptember 19, 2017
What a wonderful group of empowered, civically active women!
Rebecca KnellSeptember 19, 2017
I love this group! I have been a registered Republican my whole life, and I am also a member of MWEG. It has been a wonderful experience. It is the only place I have found where we can safely and respectfully discuss political issues and come to greater understanding together. No one party has all the right values and all the right ideas. Bipartisanship is a good thing! We are working towards worthy goals that transcend political affiliation. MWEG has been a real blessing in my life!
TaySeptember 19, 2017
MWEG is a group I proudly and humbly joined in late January. It gave me hope that my LDS sisters want to work to create a more cohesive and better nation and world.
Megan L.September 19, 2017
What an incredible group of women engaged in a noble effort. No matter what side of the aisle we stand on, America deserves political leaders with integrity and ethical clarity. The best way to ensure this is through civic engagement, advocacy, and non-violent resistance against unethical policies and politicians.
AleshaSeptember 19, 2017
I love being an accidental activists! This groups message and methods of positivity and love are essential in the world today!
Andrea DaltonSeptember 19, 2017
I am so proud to be a member of this organization! I get to interact with such intelligent and driven women who inspire me to be civilly engaged!
J.McMillanSeptember 19, 2017
It's wonderful to see this group of women involved in the public sphere using kindness and civility to work for solutions. We need more conversations and fewer arguments if we're to really succeed as a nation.
NicciSeptember 19, 2017
It;s comforting and empowering to see a group of diverse, Mormon women engaging in such constructive ways.
M MechamSeptember 19, 2017
I am so glad that upstanding women are playing a role in civics and trying to influence policy for good. Thank you for taking the ethicality of our government seriously and doing something about it.
WendySeptember 19, 2017
The world needs more organizations like this one! I'm so impressed by their nonpartisan approach to tackling the fraught political situation we find ourselves in today.
Amy DouglasSeptember 19, 2017
It is so wonderful to see LDS women coming together, stepping away from the typical partisan bickering, using their voices, and taking action to stand up for decency and truth. This makes me think of Elder Nelson's talk, "A Plea to My Sisters." Women have the ability to make such a powerful impact for good, not only in our church congregations but also in our communities and in the world.
JGarrettSeptember 19, 2017
I love seeing Mormon women diving into action-- this is so inspiring!
BillSeptember 19, 2017
I wonder if this group would be as aghast if Hillary would have been elected?
ElizaSeptember 19, 2017
This is such an important and essential movement. It's wonderful to see LDS women actively engaged in civic affairs!
Sandra DutsonSeptember 19, 2017
I wonder if she would have started the same group had Hillary won.
DeannaSeptember 19, 2017
I would never be in a group that echoed Michelle Obama. Talk about unethical government? Where were you women when the country was taken down hill by Obama? You need to wake up and re-examine whose side you are on.
Mahonri MoriancomSeptember 19, 2017
Really? Right after Trump was elected? Sounds more like disgruntled losers to me. And then they quote Michelle Obama? Typical leftist sheep...lets believe everything the mainstream media tells us regardless if it is true. Yes Virginia, there are clueless Mormons who vote contrary to gospel principles.
Robert SSeptember 19, 2017
What's odd is the judgement, by absence, of Hillary Clinton. These women should certainly be as concerned about the corruption surrounding the Clintons. In particular, their presence during the 90's Clinton years in the White House would have been very helpful.
LizSeptember 19, 2017
A shame she feels it appropriate to quote Michelle Obama as though she was someone to emulate. The Obamas did more to promote sexual immorality than any other White House occupants by pushing through ss marriage, lighting up the White House in rainbow colours and hosting gay pride events.
Ken McGowanSeptember 19, 2017
I wonder how many in this group will address the highly unethical behavior of Hillary Clinton who, arguably, is one of the most unethical politicians ever to have served in high office (I am referring to the destruction of government documents and potential cover-up of what is commonly referred to as the email scandal). As for Michelle Obama, it is difficult to believe that she is not aware of what unconstitutional actions her husband made as president. It ever there was a President and a Secretary of State who in combination almost brought the country to destruction it was these two. I see there are snow-flakes even among the LDS community.
Raman JobSeptember 18, 2017
Thank you so much Meridian. Frankly, I'm very surprised you posted this!
Carol AnnSeptember 18, 2017
This is a very troubling article. If SHE had won, what troubles we would really have right now! We need to support President Trump and pray for him daily!
vickieSeptember 18, 2017
its hard to be kind when all we hear is negativity.i am amazed at how we are so divided. we are divided in our beliefs and our ideologies and racially and religiously. it is so obvious. at least before we kept it to ourselves and tried to work it out and get along. now I see no respect and in your face attitude. no one tries to be kind verbally or physically. its a sad state of affairs. what I see is the blame is put all on the white man for everything. most of us want to work things out. what I am seeing is especially in politics is when they say they want to come together it really means you give up what you value or change your thoughts and come over on my side. sometimes that means morally as well. I am reminded of a time when one of our prophets went to a meeting where he was asked to join the Christian coalition and give and take some of our beliefs. our prophet at the time decided not to join that group because we stand firm in our beliefs.
Charles McClellandSeptember 18, 2017
Thank you for sharing this article about Mormon Women for Ethical Government - I love the title of the organization and their mission is so relevant today.
RitaSeptember 18, 2017
We better start being behind Trump or thing will get worse.
