I enjoyed reading your article so much. Then I noticed it was written by Tom Obenchain! Could this be the same Tom Obenchain who lived a block away from us in Casper, Wyoming and started kindergarten with our daughter. If so, please write me!

Discussed in the following links are cautions on the use of Strong's and, through the rest of this month, how to get Logos Bible Software, a very powerful tool, and a $25-off coupon for add-on resources and suggestions thereof: But since URLs apparently aren't allowed here, find these posts by benjaminthescribe on patheos dot com: 1. "How to Use Greek and Hebrew without Looking like a Total Idiot: New and Improved" 2. "Greek/Hebrew Followup: Another Demo and more Free Stuff Through March 1"

I have done all of those things, also. Strong's Concordance is also on the net. Being a book in hand person, I still like to use what you mentioned, but I have them on a bench. One new way I am studying the scriptures is by in depth reading of the conference editions. In that way, I get into all of the scriptures, combined with the thoughts of the author of the article. I take notes there, do cross referencing, and if the scriptures used are just singular, I often read the entire context. This has been my new way of learning and applying.

My own way to "Hasten My Scripture Study" is to Not hasten it. I don't believe in it. I have done it other ways; I studied New Testament Greek at my alma mater university. It was interesting, that is all. To me, it amounted to scripture translation trivia. I read the scriptures to save my life. Along that line, my favorite and cherished way of using the Word is by reading One chapter a day — slowly, lingeringly, letting it drip over my heart like molasses. I want God's Spirit to have time to write on it. I love this quote from Jeffrey Holland: "Invite them to read more slowly. . . Help them to ponder. . . Teach them to hold it up to the light and turn it. . . look and see."
