Hi Jane, I read your posts and articles regularly and I'm beginning to marvel on your increasing skill in presenting your thoughts. You're becoming one of the best at what you do. Keep it up

If we are wondering what the Lord is referring to in the Word of Wisdom, if we are wondering how our own diet stacks up against the Word of Wisdom, one thing to consider is, are we receiving the promised blessings of the Word of Wisdom? I personally was in a health crisis before I finally woke up to recognize that all the philosophizing in the world was meaningless if I was anything but healthy enough to run and not be weary and walk and not faint. That is the question we each have to ask - if I am not enjoying these blessings, Lord, show me how I can - help me to understand your words and apply them so as to receive the promised blessings. If we want to defend some aspect of our diet, can we hold up our own health as evidence that we are following the Word of Wisdom to its fullest extent? I believe the Lord has provided us with great abundance of life-giving conditions and a stewardship over the earth and our own bodies - and we can either be wise or foolish about it, and reap the consequences.
