What Beautiful pictures! You truly captured the beauty in these people! They have a beautiful countenance on there faces and shows how hard there work and lives are. Thank you for sharing such beauty. I can not do much to help them but I will keep them In my prayers and you all that do as much as you can for them.

Beautiful! So how much does it cost to build a home? Would donations help the couple rebuild? I visited Kenya through Meridian and saw great poverty there - but what a happy people. I served a mission in Chile and found poverty there. One's heart bleeds for these people. Then you see the spoiled attitudes of those who have so much. Poor and happy is my preference. Thank you.

Quite wonderful photos. Thanks for placing a light on these humble people. I have for 19 years been a volunteer engineer, a party of one, for rural village water supply in Africa, Asia and Latin American. In recent years I have been working with 42 villages about Mexico's largest lake with water supply, wastewater treatment and how to grow fish in floating cages. All of my solutions are based on local material, local skills, no electric, no chemials, all biological and all via gravity. I can help.

Scott, in my opinion, this is your finest photo essay. I found the content very moving, and the photography was excellent. Spoken by a fellow photog.

Oh how I wish you could have brought simple solar cookers with you! Even in areas and seasons when sun is at a premium, solar ovens can work wonders and reduce the use of precious wood. Wonderful essay!
