I love your article. My mother taught my sister and I to be fiercely independent even down to electrical and plumbing problems. Whilst my sister rejoices in her abilities I however keep quiet. After exaughsting all resources of help only then will i knuckle down and do the job myself. .

Loved this! I am very independent and usually try to fix things myself before giving up and asking for help. A wonderful home teacher recently told me I'm denying him blessings when I don't ask for help. Ouch! I need to remember not to be so prideful.

I love this! Isn't it always the way though, that the women who can take care of themselves, are often left to do so? I like to think that I accept help graciously, but something about being so single for so long, causes one (me) to forget that there are people (men) willing to help. Even accepting help getting a heavy carry-on into an overhead compartment causes more internal struggle than it should! Thank God for good men! Indeed.

Sometimes the difference between a good day and a bad one is simply the people we are with.

I've been there! Love your columns--one of the few I always read!
