You are invited to come and meet Yeah Samake Tuesday night, April 23rd at 7:00 at Maurine and Scot Proctor’s home in Alpine Utah. RSVP for address to ma*****@la***************.com. Only a limited number will be able to come because of space constraints, so let us know soon.
The race to be the president of Mali is getting closer now with a July election looming and chances are looking good for Yeah Samake to win. He and his family are the only Latter-day Saints in Mali.
The election was first scheduled to be April of 2012, but a military coup took over the nation. Yeah played a key role in getting the military to turn the government back over to the people. Now the election is scheduled for this July, and his election couldn’t be more important.
Al-Qaeda and its operatives have been trying to set up a nest of operations in the northern 2/3 of Mali and though the French have come in and tried to quell the situation, they are far from being free of this insidious threat. Al Qaeda in northern Africa is a major threat to the West–so as we always tell Yeah–he’s got the whole world on his shoulders right now.
He will tell us his amazing story that evening. Learn more about him in earlier Meridian Magazine articles.

Be sure to get a blow-by-blow transcript of his speech. I'm interested but too far away to even request. Thanks

Definitely worth your time. If you ever wanted to make a real difference in Africa, this man can tell you how! And if you have children (age 12+) who struggle with entitlement, this could be a life changer for them. It's a gripping story of bravery and overcoming.
