In recent months, the people of Houston were blindsided by Hurricane Harvey. The disaster caused the loss of family members, friends, homes, and possessions. The same situation occurred in Florida when Hurricane Irma left its devastation, and once more in Puerto Rico when Hurricane Maria left similar destruction.
With the chaos surrounding these recent events, Conner Thompson, an animation major at Brigham Young University, felt the initiative to make a difference, and reach out with art to those who had been impacted. Conner enlisted the help of creative friends who shared his same desires, thus was the premise for Art for Hearts.
Art for Hearts is a convention-style fundraising event, where top local artists are able to display & sell their work to raise money for families affected by the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. The fundraiser is taking place on Tuesday, November 14th at 6 p.m., at the Bright Building (33 West 400 South, Provo, UT 84601) in Provo, Utah.
There will be a wide range of mediums present as there will be photographers, animators, illustrators, painters, jewelers, and much more. Artists will showcase their work and offer original works, prints, commissions, photography sessions, etc. There will be no initial entry free. 100% of all proceeds will be donated to directly help those in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. It is going to be an incredible, uplifting event that the whole family can enjoy!
We have 25+ artists that will be in attendance at the event. Here is some of their work:
