Ben and Chad Truman (The Truman Brothers) are back for Christmas 2024!
The brothers form a pop/rock Christian duo that started out in Nashville, Tennessee. Emerging from Provo, Utah’s music scene in 2005, they gained attention through their prolific songwriting and moving performances.
Signed to Shadow Mountain Records in 2019, they released the EP Quiet Revolution in 2021, followed by Face the Fire in 2022, earning multiple Praiseworthy Awards. Chad and Ben are the sons of Dan Truman of Diamond Rio, and both have also been a part of the Nashville Tribute Band. Their first Christmas album, The Sounding Joy, debuted on November 8, 2023.
The Truman Brothers have recently released a song that embodies the true spirit of the season. “God Blessed Us, Everyone” is more than a beautiful melody—it’s a heartfelt reminder of the profound love and grace that Christmas represents.
In a world often marked by division and despair, this song serves as a balm for the soul. The video’s portrayal of listeners experiencing deep emotions underscores the universality of the Christmas message. Whether you’re navigating a season of joy or struggle, “God Blessed Us, Everyone” reminds us that we are all loved, valued, and known by God.
The song and video invite us to reflect on the timeless message proclaimed by the angel over 2,000 years ago:
This message of hope continues to resonate, reminding us of the Savior’s birth—a miracle that transcends time, culture, and personal circumstances.
A Song That Speaks to Everyone, Regardless of Faith Tradition
The lyrics of “God Blessed Us, Everyone” reflect a universal truth: not everyone has seen the star, heard the angel’s proclamation, or fully understands the gift of Christmas. Yet, the Savior was born for each of us, regardless of our faith, understanding, or station in life.
The opening lines are poignant:
“Not everyone saw the star
Not everyone traveled far
Not everyone has it figured out
Or knows just what they believe right now.”
These words gently remind us that faith is a journey, not a destination. The beauty of Christmas lies in its inclusivity—the miracle of Christ’s birth is for all, whether they’re sitting in the pews or searching for their own personal connection to a Higher Power.
The chorus delivers a powerful declaration:
“Peace on Earth
Good will toward men
He came to save
Not to condemn
The Father so loved us
That He sent His son
Yeah, God blessed us
Everyone.”
This is the heart of the Christmas story: God’s love manifested through the birth of His Son, bringing peace, goodwill, and salvation to all.
A Call to Embrace the Christmas Spirit
“God Blessed Us, Everyone” challenges us to see others as God sees them: loved, valued, and worth saving. The bridge beautifully reinforces this:
“Everybody is indeed somebody
Somebody who He knows and loves
Everybody is in need somebody
Everybody is a child of God.”
This Christmas, as we reflect on the message of this song, let us open our hearts to the miracle of Christ’s birth, life, sacrifice, and atonement. We all can #LightTheWorld for someone else—let’s validate their experiences and their journey and do what Christ would do.
