The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the location of the Montpelier Idaho Temple. The temple will be built on a 2.6 acre site at the intersection of Washington and Sixth North in Montpelier. The two-story structure will be about 27,000 square feet.
The Montpelier Temple was announced on April 3, 2022, by Church President Russell M. Nelson. In addition to the Montpelier temple, Idaho has eight other temples in operation, under construction or announced in Boise, Burley, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Pocatello, Rexburg (Rexburg Idaho Temple and Rexburg Idaho North Temple) and Twin Falls.
