Thank you for writing this article! I have really enjoyed writings of the Catherine Thomas. I wish I knew about her earlier as it would have save me from a lot of wandering. I've never heard of Henri Nouwen until you mentioned him in the list of other authors that you've enjoyed reading. Now I'm hooked on him! Thanks again. These are people who really can change inner spiritual lives because of their own personal integrity.

Thank you so much. Time to start over at the beginning and reread all M. Catherine Thomas's books. They have had such a profound influence on my life. And so did this thoughtful, well articulated article. Combined with the teachings of President Monson on personal revelation and the concept of ministering, this is the way to a more meaningful life. I am so thankful for prophets and poets and deep thinkers who show us the way.

Light in the Wilderness completely changed my life for the better. The God Seed is amazing too. Both are well worth reading and re-reading. They are manna for the seeking soul. I agree that M. Catherine Thomas' writings should be more well known in LDS circles. I promote her writings to all who will listen.

Wow, that was an exceptionally well-written article. I believe you to be more than a "novice." I found The God Seed difficult and, at the same time, important to read. I had to go slowly and found at the end that I had marked dozens of passages to keep. Reading this book changed the way I did my visiting teaching that week, but I have to read and re-read to keep the feelings and energy current. Sister Thomas and Terry Warner have both quoted Jacques Lussyran's "And There Was Light" which has also had an impact on me. Thank you again for your thoughtful and thorough analysis.
