I am always so grateful for the promptings to write and know that I need/want to. Your article framed the getting started process in a new way and I thank you! A wise person said to me the other day that, "those who write tell the story". If we don't write our stories, we will be invisible in a generation or two!

I love this! Over the last several years my ward has challenged us to write our life stories using a specific set of questions as a guide, write about meaningful experiences we have had, and write 10 (or more) things that others may not know about us. All of these can be put into a journal format or used for sharing or discussion during FHE or family gatherings, especially with grandchildren or relatives we don't see often. Perhaps my "5" would be: 1) My conversion to the Church, 2) How tithing financed my mission and helped me overcome other financial obstacles, 3) the blessings of family, 4) the blessings of service and callings, 5) How we can be grateful during serious illness or other adversities.

Thank you for this inspiring article! I’m motivated to write about my life for my children & grandchildren. I like the idea of writing about joy & meaning of the different homes you’ve lived in.
