Articles like this really make you stop and think, how many YSA men in the church not already addicted to porn and gaming are crying themselves to sleep every night because they yearn to be husbands and fathers and mourn how it is not good for man be alone yet can't seem to find a good LDS woman under age 35 who also yearns to fill the measure of her creation. We should hold a special church-wide fast for these poor, poor, young men that they won't have to wait until " the next life" to see their dreams of temple marriage and family formation realized.

I can remember when the church really encouraged the women to get married and have children. Then the equal rights amendment was passed, gas prices started going up and the rlghts of women became a new war cry with Peter, Paul and Mary. Satan knew what he was doing with the advent of Haight Ashbury and free love without marriage. His goal was to destroy the family and it looks like that finally happened.

My wife and I had 6. We frequently faced condescending, sneering comments like "Don't you know how it works?" This article fails to mention the largest factor, at least in the US, for declining birth rates. It's money printing, and the resulting inflation. It used to be that a middle class family could survive on one income, leaving one parent to be full time at home. Taking the dollar off the gold standard in the early seventies doomed that quality of life to destruction.

thank you. I try to support parents and young families in every way I can and freely talk about the joy of motherhood whenever it comes up, but especially with my own girls. There is nothing more fulfilling, powerful or purposeful than having a family. It saddens me deepy that so many women have bought into Satan's lies that marriage and children are a trap. Without the formation of families, the "whole earth is utterly wasted," says the Lord. I highly recommend Julie B Beck's talk "Teaching the Doctrine of the Family," which does an excellent job of outlining for young people the importance and "theology" of the family. We spend so much time and effort preparing our youth for 'careers," but what about parenthood?
