Thank you brother for your heartfelt story which must be the hardest trial your family has been through and which must be even harder for you to share here, but im grateful you chose to share it because as a grandmother myself i felt your pain and tearfully read how through my own challenges which is not as severe as yours, i can be comforted and encouraged to endure more faithfully and know that He lives and that He knows our every pain and struggles...we as a family hope and pray that your brave young grandson will regain his health and oh what joy he will receive as he shares his faith and testimony gained and increased from his ordeal...love, prayers and hugs from our family....the Matautias, Marsden Ward in Brisbane Logan Stake. What a moving and uplifting story. It is wonderful ro know that the Savior is always watching over us in any circumstance. I know this from my own experiences and seeing my family's. He is always there. May Max continue to grow and find peace in his life.

We often think we have learned hard lessons and had our character molded and developed by normal events in life. This is true to a degree but true, lasting development comes through dealing with the truly hard times when there is only one source of comfort and relief and that is our faith, trust and love of the Savior. Gratitude for those times, though difficult to see at the time, brings humility and reliance on Him who bore all things and knows all to well of our pain and suffering perhaps even unto death. The Goddard's are a pillar of strength and an example for us all.
