Job never lost his family. In fact, after all his trials he was guaranteed that he would be reunited to his family. Just like each new child added to family is a huge blessing, Job was able to add to family. Job had the great ability to understand that this life was not the final destination.

Thank you for this insight. Very helpful. Dorothy I'm sure the Lord knew Job would miss his first family and Job knew He would restore them to him in the next life but He may have given him a second family to comfort him as he remained on the earth. Also by passing the test Job would have had eternal increase: truly one hundred fold.

This is a great perspective, it is important to learn to forgive, thank you for sharing this. But as a widower and one who has lost 5 loved ones in the past year and a half, I argue that Job's life was twice as good than before due to his losses. Worldly riches don't mean anything to me, and I would trade everything to be with my wife, even if it was just for a short conversation.

When Job's friends came to sit with him for seven days, they were "Siting Sheva," an old Jewish and Israelite tradition of making space for mourning. The door is left open for friends to enter, sit, and remember the dead. You don't shave or shower, watch TV or look at art, but entirely focus on your loss and devote a time to grieving together. By the end of the seven days, you are usually ready to get up, get clean, and start to move forward. A very wise practice.

Explain how the loss of Jobs ten children, plus being separated from his wife be replaced a hundred fold? Surely his family meant more to Job than all the riches he once possessed.
