On top of that, at least 9 of the choir members are descendants of the Mormon loggers. We who live here in the Pineries and have done a lot of reading and research are thrilled with the opportunity to meet those descendants.
We are especially thrilled that those involved in this little known part of the Restoration will be recognized for the part they played in the building of the Nauvoo temple. We are also proud of the fact that the first baptismal font of the Restoration was built from Wisconsin Pine. There are references to that in 3 different church publications.

I am so excited that this is happening as a part of the Choir's summer tour! It will be a highlight for me personally. My paternal ancestors converted to the LDS church in Wisconsin and moved to Nauvoo where they helped to build the Nauvoo temple. They were directly involved in the use of the WI lumber. Decades later, one of their great great granddaughters (me)would return to serve a mission in their homeland of Wisconsin, and be assigned to work in a city very near the former logging mission. I love the Wisconsin connections in my life. I am so excited to return again in a few days as a musical missionary!
