Acupuncture is an amazing healing modality. I was very ill at one time in my life and the medical doctors told me there was nothing they could do to "cure" me, only offer support. I contacted an (LDS) doctor who had trained in acupuncture in China years before. He started a course of acupuncture. I really did not believe it would work, but I was willing to give it a try along with herbs and other supplements. It worked and my medical doctor said, "I don't know what you are doing, but keep doing it." The disease is nowcompletely gone. I became convinced in it and while I was in China as a BYU China Teacher I studied acupuncture from a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor. I found much of the traditional learning jived with our teachings and was harmonious with our religion doctrine. Acupuncture was first developed by recording happenings over ten generations of time and making hypothesis then testing them out. It is a fascinating study and a study for a lifetime. Some of it may be a little strange to western views. and some of it is really strange to western views, but I am alive and what else can I say, it works.
