Our stake conference for many years was the week before Thanksgiving, one stake conference years ago Elder Vaughn J Featherstone was the visiting general authority. After the opening song and prayer one of the counselors in the stake presidency got up to announce the speakers, as he turned to sit back down Elder Featherstone got up and came to the pulpit and said, as best as I can remember, " I'm going to make some changes to the program, we are going to sing a couple of songs not on the program, they are songs of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving seems to be almost forgotten anymore but it should be one of our most important and remembered holidays".

Though I have little claim to it, I am grateful to call you “friend”. Perhaps we will meet again at the Oregon coast. May your Holidays be filled with love and light.
