I am so glad to see this monument. My great grandmother lost two. One shortly after they started from Council Bluffs and one who was born crossing and only lived a few days. She carried the second one for two days until they reached the Strawberry River. There she let them bury the child because others were buried there and the baby wouldn’t be alone.
