I've had those experiences too where someone saves me; help from both sides of the veil; promptings or people/angels who step in. And sometimes I turn and they are gone, as well. Then I wonder, 'who am I that Heavenly Father should help me so much?' Like Jay, I wonder what is the purpose. Is it ever possible to figure it out? Or do you just do your best, ask regularly "Lord, what would Thou have me do?" and hope you accomplish whatever it is..

Years ago I made a list of My Near Desth Experiences. Even though these were not as obvious and dramatic as your NYC saving, it made me realize I have been preserved for a reason. Now I am working on the reason.
