The southern coast of Mexico was hit in the early hours of Wednesday, October 25, by Hurricane Otis, a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 165 mph, causing damage to the infrastructure and population of several municipalities in the southern state of Guerrero, Mexico. Otis was the most powerful hurricane to make landfall in Mexico in the last 50 years.
