The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new site location for the Tampa Florida, Lehi Utah and West Jordan Utah Temples. The latter two temples were announced at the Church’s April 2024 general conference.

Tampa Florida Temple

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a change in the location for the Tampa Florida Temple.

The site location was previously announced in October 2022. A new location has been announced.

The single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet will be constructed on a 12-acre site at 9445 Camden Fields Parkway, Riverview, Florida.

The Tampa Florida Temple was announced in April 2022 by Church President Russell M. Nelson. “Temples will bless countless lives on both sides of the veil,” he said after announcing the Tampa Florida Temple.

There are four other temples announced, under construction or in operation in Florida including the Fort Lauderdale FloridaJacksonville FloridaOrlando Florida and Tallahassee Florida temples.

The first Latter-day Saint congregation was created in 1897 in the Big Bend region of this southeastern state. By 1904, there were 1,230 Church members in Florida. Today, there are nearly 173,000 Latter-day Saints in around 275 congregations.

Lehi Utah Temple

This temple will be built on a 22.48-acre site northwest of the intersection of 3950 North and Center Street in Lehi. Plans call for a multi-story temple of approximately 85,000 square feet and a new meetinghouse. This will be the city’s first temple.
