Editor’s Note: Since so many of you helped make this film a reality, we are passing on the note Mariah sent her family and friends about Two Heartbeats.

Well, all you lovely people, the Zions Indie Film Fest has arrived. I wanted to let those of you who are local to Utah know that Two Heartbeats will be screening as part of that festival this Friday, February 27 at 4pm.

It is part of Short Film Block 8. Tickets can be purchased HERE or at the door. I would love to see as many of you there as I can. It will be so fun to show you what your support created and to get to just to talk and laugh in person.

For those of you who are not local to Utah, the film is also screening online as part of the pre-cursor event to the New York Indie Shorts festival (called New York New Waves) and will be available to access from February 26-March 1. Here are the instructions to login to watch it from home:

  1. Visit: https://nynewwaves.ottchannel.com
  2. Click on Sign In
  3. In the email field, enter: NewWaves2025 (just like that – no email needed!)
  4. In the password field, enter: NYCACCESS

That will give those of you who are further away a chance to see it (and hopefully boost its profile in getting picked to screen at their live event in the fall).

And speaking of live events, I’m thrilled to announce that Two Heartbeats was also chosen to screen at the Oxford Shorts festival in Oxford, England and was nominated for Best Director as part of that program. Having it screen on the campus of one of the most beautiful universities in the world, and a place that has meant so much to me, is a dream. I am so grateful and flattered that they would include me (and give me the extra nod of that nomination).

Though I didn’t get to be there in person, the film also won an award for Best Female Director at the Vancouver Women Film Festival. I do hope to make it to Oxford to be there for that in person, if anyone on this list lives in that area, message me and I’ll give you the screening details.

Overall, I’m so pleased this little film is resonating with people and the best part is getting to meet so many other filmmakers and hear about their art and their passion. I’m learning so much from this experience and I’m so grateful for your support in that journey.

I hope to see some of you in person on Friday. And if I don’t know you by sight, please come up and introduce yourself, I’d love to thank you in person!
