Michaela Proctor Hutchins grew up in the Washington D.C. Metro area then spent her last two years of high school in Alpine, Utah. During that time she formed “The Africa Club” and led the effort for two major humanitarian projects in Kenya. At the end of her freshman year at BYU she received a mission call to serve in the Zambia Lusaka Mission (which includes the country of Malawi). After returning from her mission, she studied abroad in Jerusalem, interned in Malawi, and finished her degree in communications with minors in international development and sociology at BYU. She’s been a trip leader in Fiji for HEFY and will be going to Greece as a trip leader for YRC this summer. She loves traveling, especially with her husband, and is always planning the next adventure.
