For Gary Tippetts..... My great grandfather was John Harvey Tippets, my grandfather was Joseph Alva Tippets (John Harvey's youngest child)....and my Dad was Joseph Alva's youngest child (no. 8 after seven girls). Brigham Distributing (Parry, Ut.) has a few copies of the book.

I am extremely grateful to read the comment from Mardyne. It was to my Dad, and has been to me as well, a major reason for telling this story in the book, in presentations and other media;...."to give encouragement to persevere and to inspire faith, for those who are dealing with adversities and challenging times in their lives."

imagine my surprise as I read this story...seeing a familiar name and pioneer story as I to am related to Sophia Moulton her youngest brother was my grandfather's father. Miracles do happen

In the notes at the end of the article I was a little puzzled by the statement that the Museum of Idaho Falls was not far from Arimo. Acutallly Arimo is 80 miles from south of Idaho Falls. It is much closer to Pocatello, Idaho.

This is a great book! John gave a presentation at our church fireside that was inspiring! Thanks John!

I have felt such discouragement lately and I've been praying for the help and comfort I need. I usually scan the magazine for anything with a title I might want to read in my busy day. I began reading this to see if I wanted to read the entire thing. Imagine my surprise when I realized that Joe's wife was a distant relative! Her grandmother was my great grandfather's sister! I knew the family story of survival with the handcart company! I read the entire story with tears streaming down my face as I knew it was an answer to my prayers for encouragement and hope! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Where can I get the book in Arizona, and how are we related? I come from the Alva Lewis Tippetts line. Which one are you from?
