The Church in essence recognizes/acknowledges same sex marriage as it is "legal" by law. That recognition/acknowledgement absolutely doesn't approve, authorize or condone same sex marriages in any kind of doctrine or Church related setting such as meeting house or Temple.. In essence it is an acknowledgement that they "exist" in the world. Same with gambling, addiction to substances and many other. Just because "it's legal" doesn't make it morally right or that God has to accept it. He won't. In terms of members marriage. All a marriage between people in a meeting house is only for time, not eternity unless they go thru the Temple, are sealed, lived true and faithful lives and it is ratified by the Holy Spirit of Promise. Temple sealings, like any other ordinance, are a "promissory note" until that marriage is ratified by the Holy Spirit of Promise. "Thus if both parties are 'just and true,' if they are worthy, a ratifying seal is placed on their temple marriage; if they are unworthy, they are not justified by the Spirit and the ratification of the Holy Ghost is withheld. Subsequent worthiness will put the seal in force, and unrighteousness will break any seal." https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/eternal-marriage-student-manual/holy-spirit-of-promise?lang=eng In the end the ONLY marriage that God will ultimately approve is a marriage where all involved have been true and faithful to their covenants, the Gospel, and qualify for the highest level of the Celestial Kingdom. All other marriages are completely and totally meaningless and void in the hereafter. Its much better to repent in this life and not wait. as it's much harder to repent in the hereafter. Satan wants you to delay, wait, and procrastinate repentance.

Why is logic so difficult for a modern society. Because we have made human sexuality so 'sexual', we cannot imagine our 'mom and dad' enjoying a physical process of 'Knowing' each other. When Joseph said "that which is without body parts and passions is nothing" he was teaching something far greater than the words. Body, parts passions. We need to think more clearly about who we really are. And the same is true with our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. Thanks for the writing. Looking forward to more.

It is time for the church to canonized the The Family Promulgation.
