What I find interesting is The Church is blamed for the abuse. The Church did not do this. Individuals did. Yes, it may have been a church sponsored activity but it is still the individual that is guilty. In my simple way of thinking the purpose to accuse The Church is to sensationalize the supposed abuse for gain, either financially or to smear the church. The same goes for other organizations, whether religious or educational, it is the individual that performed the abuse and not the organization.
