I was blessed to grow up in the same ward as the Springer boys and watched them leave for and return from their missions. I don't recall hearing this story which might not have seem significant at the time, but laid the seeds for this miracle in Western Africa. Ray and Mel Springer and all the men in their remarkable family blessed the lives of the young men in our ward by their examples of goodness and faith.

Thank you for sharing that beautiful story. The power of "one" and its exponential blessings that came from that one encounter, in addition to the blessing of your life, Elder Springer's life and Sister Sampson-Davis's life, a whole country was blessed. On another note, my husband and I could relate to the fear of the mission president when a discouraged missionary decided to leave (with no forwarding address)! Scary times for sure. My husband had to track more than one down and talk more than one into staying and they were great blessings for staying, too. Thanks again for sharing.

What a beautiful story and how encouraging to all of us who sometimes think we are all alone in our struggles. Thank you!

Thank you. I had not heard this part of Sister Sampson Davis' story.. My husband and I served in Ghana from 2009-2012. He was Temple President and there are so many beautiful stories there. These are spiritual people hungry for the meat of the gospel, so open and ready. I had seen the DVD of Pioneers in Africa several times before we were called so I knew the history. This caused me to be so excited to serve there and what a blessing it was and is. We love them and miss them so much. God does work in marvelous ways!!!

I woke up this morning needing a encouraging blessing in my life. I have given out many Books of Mormon and few have taken the challenge to read it. I have one on my desk right now waiting for inspiration to help me know who I could give it too. Your beautiful tender mercy story touched my heart. I will give it to my neighbor today with a plate of his favorite cookies, chocolate chip. Thank you.

The Book of Mormon is of divine origin. God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ visited the young boy, Joseph Smith in answer to his question..which church he should join. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. The Savior restored His Church on earth again through His prophet Joseph Smith. Anyone who sincerely desires to find these out for himself/herself and asks God in humble prayer will surely know them by the power of the Holy Ghost.
